On May 28, 2025, IJA helds its first Meet2Brunch in an inspiring setting with renowned media and communication scholar Prof. Hanan Badr.
Prof. Badr, whose research focuses on media pluralism, exile journalism, and transnational communication, provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of journalistic work in exile.
Distinguished journalists attended the brunch, including Fatih Akalan (MC TV), Ebru Kaymak (Deutsche Bold), Sevinç Özarslan (TR724), Yavuz Acar, and investigative journalist Cevheri Güven. Representing IJA were Dr. Mehmet Evli, Mustafa Kılıç, and Yasemin Aydın, Director of International Relations and Social Responsibility.
The exchange was intense, collegial, and enriching – focusing on issues of credibility, security, and visibility of exiled voices in the international media landscape. The Meet2Brunch format proved to be a successful platform for developing shared perspectives in a relaxed atmosphere and for generating new ideas for work in exile.
IJA plans to continue this successful format on a regular basis to further strengthen dialogue between journalists, experts, and engaged stakeholders.
