Ahmet Altan… One more time detained

On 5 November, Ahmet Altan was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months and was evacuated with Nazlı Ilıcak considering his period of detention.

On November 6, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office objected to the decision of the Istanbul 26th High Criminal Court on Ahmet Altan.

The 27th Assize Court of Istanbul, which evaluated the objection, concluded to the re-arrest of Ahmet Altan.

Altan is expected to be arrested after appearing before a judge again.

Altan’s lawyer Figen Çalıkuşu stated that they learned the decision from the media, that the court did not communicate the decision to her despite her insistence.

Immediately after the developments, Ahmet Altan was detained by the police came to his house.
