Reason for Blocking: Protecting National Security!
Among the blocked news, news about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his family ranked first. While at least 3 thousand news items were blocked, more than a thousand of these news items included allegations of irregularities against Erdoğan. This was followed by 517 news items on individuals and organisations close to the AKP.

Another noteworthy point in the report was the access bans imposed on opposition newspapers. In 2022, opposition websites were blocked 51 times.
