The report underlined that the\npressure on the media in Turkey,imprisoned journalists\u2019 release, to stop\narbitrary practices relating to the press, the fight against terrorism and\nreview of the defamation laws and was urged to terminate facing political\ninterference in the judiciary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Critical journalism and terrorist\npropaganda made integrated as it was said. For this reason, it was stated that\nmany journalists were deprived of their basic rights for months and sometimes\nyears. Although the dismissal of a\nthird of the judges after the coup attempt and the trial wave impose a great\nburden on the judiciary, this cannot be used as an excuse for a systematic violation\nof fundamental rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n * The Judicial Reform Strategy, launched in May 2019 to address issues in\nthe judiciary, will not be reliable unless it guarantees judicial independence\nin both law and practice and ends arbitrary persecution of journalists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n * The Constitutional Court is inconsistent with regard to freedom of\nexpression. When the Supreme Court ruled in favor of journalists in accordance\nwith ECtHR judgments, it faces resistance and obstruction in the domestic\ncourts. This is an indication of political interference with the judiciary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n * Although it is accepted that\nTurkey was under terrorist threat, the Supreme Court under the name of security\nand basic human rights and freedoms counting any of the ECHR decision is not\nconsidered legitimate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n * The threat of terrorism is used by\nthe state as an excuse to suppress critical voices. The fact that journalistic\nactivities by the Turkish government, prosecutors and the court are associated\nwith terrorist propaganda underlines this fact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n * Although the Panel found the Court\nof Cassation’s decision to end the conviction of the defendants positive in the\nRepublican case, it also notes that the personal damage resulting from the\nimprisonment of the defendants is irreversible. They also condemns the\naggravated charges against Ahmet \u015e\u0131k.<\/p>\n\n\n\n * Trustees RT\u00dcK recognize the wide\npowers within the framework of taken efforts to control the media audio and\nvisual in Turkey, the organization’s threatening online broadcasting control\nefforts and their presence with high-paying licensing system denotes that\nalarming. The lack of definition of online broadcasting puts the state in\ncontrol of all online activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n * Radical reforms are required for the accreditation of journalists and\nissuing press cards.
