IJA Academy Trains Young Journalists to Combat Fake News

The IJA Academy, operating under the International Journalists Association (IJA), has launched its first workshop as part of the “JuMedia” project. The initiative is supported by the EU’s Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs.

A total of 25 young aspiring journalists took part. The project aims to encourage conscious use of media tools, equip young people with the skills to counter disinformation, and strengthen their access to reliable information.

The inaugural workshop focused on how fake news spreads and how to fight it effectively. Participants learned methods to identify and access trustworthy sources.

During hands-on sessions, the young journalists practiced writing, video shooting, and editing techniques. With the skills they gained, they will produce English-language content and thus contribute to the global fight against disinformation.
