International Journalists brings you together with esteemed guests from six countries including Ukraine, USA, Germany, France, Sweden and Switzerland at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Since 2019, our association, which has adopted the vision of being the organizer or supporter of all kinds of activities aimed at dialogue, solidarity and professional development among media employees on an international scale, is adding a new one to its activities aimed at raising the problems of journalists and contributing to media freedom.

Our association has prepared a program full of panels, live broadcasts, special presentations, Journalist Post magazine and report contents with the concept of ‘Democracy struggle against authoritarianism’ for the fair this year.

Guest: Volodymyr Bober

Moderator: Yunus Erdoğdu

The program is moderated by Yunus Erdogdu Editor-in-Chief of the website ukraynahaber.com and Representative of Cihan News Agency who was forced to seek asylum in Switzerland after the Russian-Ukrainian war began and his guest is Volodymyr Bober. The Editor-in-Chief of the Poglyad Newspaper, Bober is also the director of the Ukrainian Journalists’ Association (NSJU) and the coordinator of the Solidarity Center, an initiative to help injured journalists.

The programme moderated by Journalist and writer Erkam Tufan Aytav, who went abroad after being accused of being the President of the Journalists and Writers Foundation, went abroad after his arrest warrant, and worked as the Editorial Coordinator of the International Dialogue Eurasia Magazine and broadcasting on Radio and TV and his guests are Dr . Eser Karakaş and Prof. Dr . Vedat Demir.

Academician and writer, professor at the University of Strasbourg. Dr .  was the vice-rector of Bahçeşehir University and a columnist in various newspapers. After 2016, he settled in France. Prof. Dr. Vedat Demir who is also an academician and Dr .  is a faculty member of Freie Universität Berlin. He served as the Secretary General of the Turkish Press Council. He was expelled, arrested and imprisoned for his academic studies and journalistic activities.

Journalist Sevgil Musaieva, who is on the “100 most influential people in the world in 2022” list of Time Magazine, will be the guest of the program, which will be moderated by Yüksel Durgut, the International Journalists Association (IJA) e.V’s Foreign Relations coordinator and Journalist Post Magazine Editor-in-Chief. Musaieva, who is the editor-in-chief of the Ukrayinska Pravda news portal, has been awarded many awards for the file news she has prepared.

Enes Kanter Freedom, an NBA player and human rights activist, transferred to the NBA after playing for the Turkish national basketball team and Fenerbahce. Guest: Cevheri Güven

Cevheri Güven, an investigative journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Turkish Minute, was the News Director of Star Newspaper and the Editorial Director of Nokta Magazine. He was imprisoned for his dissident publications and later sought asylum in Germany. With the publications he made from here, he became one of the most watched and influential journalists in Turkey. For this reason, he has recently become the target of Turkish intelligence and the media close to power.
