Figen Yüksekdağ’s poetry book is banned

Figen Yüksekdağ’s poetry book titled “Walls to be Demolished” published by the Ceylan Publications, the former Co-Leader of the HDP, who is in prison, was banned for alleged “organizational propaganda”. Books were decided to be collected and destroyed

. In the decision made by the Antalya 6th Criminal Magistrate, it was stated that “it is understood that the book contains written content intended to maintain the organizational existence of the PKK / KCK terrorist organization through press publication and to gain the support of the broad masses of the public”.

The poem “My Cloudy Head” was cited as the reason for the decision. It was argued that the poem ”My Cloudy Head“ ”praises the armed terrorist organization and its activities, describes and praises that the members of the terrorist organization have legitimate and legal goals.”

The Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office expressed in a statement that “the contents of the book praise the armed terrorist organization and its activities, propaganda of terrorist organizations is made” on the grounds that the book was banned from printing, distribution, sale throughout Turkey and decided to collect, destroy the confiscated copies.

Figen Yüksekdağ has been under arrest for more than 6 years.
