International Journalists Association, in the scope of celebrations for Ramadan Eid, gathered the journalists who had to leave Turkey and the journalists who live abroad and their families around.
200 people participated to the event which was taken place in Frankfort, a city of Germany. Throughout the event, journalist had the opportunity to discuss the proceedings for projects which they can manage to do together in both social and professional aspect.
Prison sufferer journalists such as İbrahim Karayeğen, Yüksel Turgut and Cevheri Güven shared what they had been through.
Arrested Journalists were not Forgotten
In the event, additional activities to unite with the journalists who are still in prison and their families outside have been discussed. Suggestions of journalists who live abroad over what they can do on behalf of the participation of journalists who still live in Turkey but not be able to perform their professions have been made. Gathered sides formed volunteer working teams.
While participant families had a chance to meet during the event, organizing similar events reached the concensus.
