International Journalists Association e.V. (IJA) has been accepted to the Accreditation of Non-Governmental Organizations of the European Union.
The IJA thus obtained the right to speak, report and interact with EU commissions.
In addition, the transparency of the activities and finances of our association has also been approved by the European Union. The EU-Transparency Institution gives this approval by reviewing the association’s website information, financial and annual reports. Every year, the same information is re-audited and the transparency approval is updated.
International Journalists Association e.V continues its activities as an international professional solidarity association based in Germany, which is formed by journalists residing out Turkey.
The IJA considers it a duty to promote freedom of speech, freedom of Expression, the rights and security of journalists, freedom of the Media (Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights).
IJA officials have announced that they will continue their work with greater enthusiasm within the framework of their vision and goals with this success that they have achieved before the European Union.
There are many conditions for obtaining this acceptance from the European Union.
• Having a public website where aligned record up-to-date information about their activities at the EU level
* Following the code of conduct on how aligned interact with EU institutions
• Owning a grievance mechanism that allows anyone to initiate an administrative investigation into alleged violations of the code of conduct by registered aligned.
The registration process is managed by a secretariat consisting of officials of the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission.
After this success, IJA, which has gained EU accredited association status, will prepare reports on ‘media, communication, culture, justice and fundamental rights’ issues of interest in European Union commissions and will be able to convey its views to the EU.
