Humanity Cartoons Exhibition on migration, human rights and discrimination opens to visitors

The Humanity Cartoons Exhibition was presented to visitors at two separate events held in Manchester and Brighton, England, in June. Focusing on migration, human rights, forced displacement and social inclusion, the exhibition brought together hundreds of visitors from diverse backgrounds.

Migration and humanity take center stage in Manchester

The exhibition’s first stop was the Friends’ Meeting House in Manchester on June 17, 2026. Organized by Human Rights Solidarity (HRS) as a co-organizer within the framework of the Migration and Humanity Future Forum, the event attracted approximately 60 visitors.

Participants, including academics, policymakers, civil society representatives and individuals with lived migration experience, had the opportunity to view the cartoons on display. The works explored themes such as migration, human rights, forced displacement, social cohesion and shared human values. Using visual storytelling to challenge prejudices surrounding migration, the exhibition drew considerable interest from attendees.

Exhibition featured during Refugee Week in Brighton

The second stop of the Humanity Cartoons Exhibition was the Shifting Cultures: Anti-Racist Education Conference, held at Brighton Corn Exchange on June 19, 2026. Organized as part of Refugee Week, the exhibition was visited by more than 100 people.

The exhibition attracted strong interest from educators, civil society representatives and conference participants. Through an artistic perspective, it addressed themes including human rights, migration, discrimination, prejudice and social inclusion. In line with this year’s conference theme, “Faith, Arts & Literature in Anti-Racist Education”, the exhibition highlighted the transformative role of art in anti-racist education.

Encouraging visitors to reflect on empathy, equality and human rights, the Humanity Cartoons Exhibition stood out as one of the Refugee Week events emphasizing the importance of art in combating prejudice, fostering understanding between different communities and contributing to a more inclusive society.
