JUMEDIA: Junge Federn, Medienkompetenz stärken

JUMEDIA: Junge Federn, Medienkompetenz stärken

JUMEDIA: Junge Federn, Medienkompetenz stärken is a project aimed at improving young people’s media literacy and strengthening their ability to combat disinformation. Focusing particularly on young people with migrant backgrounds and disadvantaged youth, the project supports participants’ capacities in digital content production, critical thinking and access to accurate information. Through creative production areas such as podcasts, blogs and videos, young people are encouraged to make their own voices visible. The project also seeks to strengthen democratic values and support the more active participation of young people in social processes.

Project Introduction

JUMEDIA is a contemporary youth project that aims to empower young people not only as consumers of media content, but also as individuals who question, evaluate and produce it. Bringing together media literacy, creative writing and digital production, the project provides an inclusive learning environment especially for migrant and disadvantaged youth.

Within the scope of the project, young people are supported in developing skills to access accurate information, recognize disinformation and create their own digital narratives. This process strengthens not only individual development, but also social participation, democratic awareness and intercultural dialogue.

Impact

JUMEDIA contributes to strengthening social awareness by supporting young people in becoming conscious media consumers and producers. In particular, it creates an important opportunity for young people with migrant backgrounds and disadvantaged youth to make their voices heard, expand their areas of representation and take a more active place in the digital world.

Supporting democratic participation at the local level, the project also strengthens social cohesion and a culture of collaborative production by building bridges among young people from different cultural backgrounds.
