Hrant Dink, founder of Agos Newspaper and former Editor in Chief, was commemorated with a ceremony attended by his lovers on the 13th anniversary of his murder. This year, he was remembered by those who loved Hrant Dink, who lost his life as a result of an armed attack 13 years ago in front of Agos Newspaper.

CROWD GATHERED IN FRONT OF THE SEBAT APARTMENT

It was observed that the commemoration ceremony held in front of Sebat Apartment in Osmanbey, where the old center of Agos Newspaper is located, was quite crowded. The ceremony, which was organized to commemorate Dink, was held this year at 15.00, which was the same time as it was every year, on January 19, 2007.

POLITICS PARTICIPATED

The ceremony was attended by Hrant Dink’s wife, Rakel Dink, his brother Orhan Dink family and Hrant’s Friends, CHP Vice President Honorary Adıgüzel, CHP Istanbul Deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu, CHP Istanbul Deputy Ali Şeker, CHP Istanbul Provincial President Canan Kaftancıoğlu and HDP Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Mithat Sancar also attended.

REMINDS US THE VALUE OF TRUTH

Dr. Şebnem Korur Fincancı, who was his friend, made this year’s speech through the Agos newspaper’s window. Speaking on behalf of Hrant’s Friends, human rights activist Prof. Dr. Şebnem Korur Fincancı said, “For Hrant, his friends who have been fighting for justice for 13 years remind us all of the value of truth despite the man who exiled the truth from these lands.”

CLOVES WERE LEFT TO THE POINT HE GOT SHOT

Sertaç Ekinci from the Social Memory Platform addressed the crowd before Fincancı’s speech. Her family and loved ones left cloves where Dink was killed.
